AN ACT to amend section 48 of the Police Act,

1892-1979.

[Assented to 11th December, 1979.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Police Act short title

and citation

This Act shall come into operation on a date

to be fixed by proclamation.

Section 48

Section 48 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the passage commencing with the word "next" in line fourteen and ending with the word "specified" in line nineteen and substituting the passage "on such day as the said officer or constable specifies in the recognisance, being a day within seven days (calculated to include a Sunday and any public holiday) after the day on which the person was apprehended, section five hundred and seventy of The Criminal Code notwithstanding".
