AN ACT to amend the Police Act, 1892-1974.
[Assented to 13th May, 1975.]
BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Section 3
| amended. | 2. Section 3 of the principal Act is amended by adding after the passage "PART TO THE APPOINTMENT AND REGULATION OF SPECIAL CONSTABLES, ss. 34-38." a passage as follows "PART IIIA.—ABORIGINAL AIDES, s. 38A.". |

PART DIA.-ABORIGINAL AIDES.
Aboriginal
| aides. | 38A. (1) The Commissioner of Police and any commissioned officer of Police authorised in that behalf by the Commissioner may, in writing |
| (a) | appoint aboriginal persons to be aboriginal aides; and |
| (b) | revoke any appointment made under this subsection. |
(2) Any aboriginal aide appointed under
subsection (1) of this section
| (a) | shall, except as specified to the contrary in his instrument of appoint- ment, have all of the powers, privileges, duties and obligations as has any constable duly appointed under this Act; and |
| (b) | shall receive such remuneration and allowances as are determined by the Minister. |
(3) A reference in any other law of the State (not being a law relating to condition of service of members of the Police Force) to a member of the Police Force shall be read as including an aboriginal aide appointed under this section. .
