136 Q^t'IlzIktkC ANNO VICESIMO PRIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 20 of 1972 An Act to Declare as to the Commencement of Certain Provisions of the Police ActAmendmentAct 1971 and for Related Purposes [ ASSENTED TO 19TH DECEMBER, 1972] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Police Act Amendment Act 1972. (2) The Police Act Amendment Act 1971 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. 2. Commencement of ss . 3 and 7 of Principal Act. Notwithstanding anything contained in section 2 of the Principal Act, the provisions of sections 3 and 7 of that Act shall be deemed to have come into operation on the second day of December 1971.
Police Act Amendment Act 1972, No. 20 137 3. Preservation of acts done. It is hereby declared- (a) that an appointment or a continuance of a married woman as a member of the Police Force of the State of Queensland is and always has been on and since the second day of December 1971 lawful; (b) that the lawfulness and effect of the making of contributions to the Police Superannuation Fund by a member of the Police Force of the State of Queensland on and since the second day of December 1971 are not affected by the fact that the member was at the time a married woman.
