AN ACT to amend the Police Act, 1892-1953.

[Assented to 25th August, 1954.]

BE it enacted, by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Police Act Short title anticitation

Amendment Act, 1954.

(2) In this Act the Police Act, 1892-1953,

Act 55° Victorise No. 27 as reprinted with amendments to and including Act No. 15 of 1952 incorporated pursuant to the provisions of the Amendments Incorporation Act, 1938 and further amended by Act No. 28 of 1953,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Police Act, 1892-1954.

S. 58

amended. 2. Section fifty-eight of the principal Act is

amended by

(a)	substituting for the word "fifty" in line four the words "one hundred";
(b)	substituting for the word "five" in the last line the word "twenty-five";
(c)	adding after the word "pounds" in the last line the words "or be liable to imprison- ment for a term not exceeding six months".

amended.	3. Paragraph (c) of section fifty-eight A of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the word "ten" in line six the word "twenty-five".

amended. 4. Section eighty of the principal Act is amended

by

(a)	substituting for the word "five" in line six the word "twenty-five";
(b)	substituting Mr the word "ten" in line ten the word "fifty";
(c)	substituting for the word "two" in line eleven the word "six".

S. 84	5. Section eighty-four of the principal Act is
amended.

amended by substituting for the word "lawful" in

line six the word "unlawful".

S. 97

amended.	6. Section ninety-seven of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words "forty shillings" in the last line the words "twenty-five pounds or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months".

amended. 7. Section one hundred and seven of the prin-

cipal Act is amended by

(a)	substituting for the word "ten" in line six the word "twenty-five";
(b)	adding after the word "pound" in line six the words "or be liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months".
