AX ORDINANCE

To amend the Police Ordinance 1927-1954.

BE it ordained by the GoTernor-General in and over the Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the

Commonwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal

Seat of Government (Administration) Act 1910-1947, as follows:—
1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Police Ordinance short title a c ' t a t i o u-
1 ()V"i *

(2.) The Police Ordinance 1927-1954 is in this Ordinance

referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(3.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance,

may be cited as the Police Ordinance 1927-1955.

2. Section four of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Definition.

omitting from the definition of " Commissioner " the words " Com- mission of Police " and inserting in their stead the words " Chief Commissioner of Police ".

3. Section five of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Establishment

of Police Force.

inserting in paragraph (a) of sub-section (1.), before the word

'' Commissioner ", the word " Chief '".

4. The Schedule to the Principal Ordinance is amended by Schedule,

inserting before the word " Commissioner " the word " Chief ".
