AN ORDINANCE

I To amend the Police Ordinance 1927-1943, as amended

by the Police Arbitral Tribunal Ordinance 1947.

BE it ordained by the Governor-General in and over the Com-Executive Council, in pursuance of the powers conferred by the monwealth of Australia, with the advice of the Federal Seat of Government Acceptance Act 1909-1938 and the Seal of
Government (Administration) Act 1910-1940, as follows:—

1.— (1.) This Ordinance may be cited as the Police Ordinance short tm» «nd

(2.) Section one of the Police Arbitral Tribunal Ordinance

1947 is amended by omitting sub-section (3.).

(3.) The Police Ordinance 1927-1943, as amended by the Police Arbitral Tribunal Ordinance 1947, is in this Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.

(4.) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may be cited as the Police Ordinance 1927-1947.

2. Section four of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Dfamtious.

omitting from the definition of " Chairman of the Industrial Board" the word "person" (first and second occurring) and inserting in its stead the words " Conciliation Commissioner ".

3. Section fixe A of the Principal Ordinance is amended by Police Arbitral

inserting after sub-section (7.) the following sub-section:— Tribunal.

" (7A.) It shall be part of the duties of the employment of the Conciliation Commissioner for the time being holding the office of Chairman of the Industrial Board to act as Chairman of the Tribunal.".
