Poisons (Public Institutions) Order 2000

I make the following order under sections 3(1) and 55(3) of the Poisons Act 1971 .27 June 2000

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Poisons (Public Institutions) Order 2000 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Forensic Science Service TasmaniaThe institution or establishment known as Forensic Science Service Tasmania is declared to be – (a) a public institution for the purposes of the Poisons Act 1971 ; and (b) an exempted public institution for the purposes of section 55(3) of that Act. 4RevocationThe following orders are revoked: (a) Poisons (Public Institutions) Order (No. 2) 1990 , being Statutory Rules 1990, No. 165; (b) Poisons (Public Institutions) Order (No. 3) 1990 , being Statutory Rules 1990, No. 166.

Displayed and numbered in accordance with the Rules Publication Act 1953.

Notified in the Gazette on 12 July 2000

This order is administered in the Department of Health and Human Services.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the order) This order –

(a) declares Forensic Science Service Tasmania to be – (i) a public institution for the purposes of the Poisons Act 1971 ; and (ii) an exempted public institution for the purposes of section 55(3) of that Act; and (b) revokes certain orders.
