Poisons List Amendment Order (No. 3) 2000

I make the following order under section 15(1) of the Poisons Act 1971 .23 August 2000

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Poisons List Amendment Order (No. 3) 2000 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette or 1 September 2000, whichever is later. 3Principal OrderIn this order, the Poisons List Order 1998 is referred to as the Principal Order. 4Schedule 2 amended (Medicinal Poisons) Schedule 2 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by omitting item 2028 and substituting the following:

2028.  Datura spp. in preparations containing 0.25% or less of the alkaloids of datura.

(b) by omitting item 2031 ; (c) by omitting items 2040 and 2041 and substituting the following:

2040.	Duboisia leichhardtii in preparations containing 0.25% or less of the alkaloids of duboisia.
2041.	Duboisia myoporoides in preparations containing 0.25% or less of the alkaloids of duboisia.

(d) by omitting item 2052 and substituting the following:

2052.	Guaiphenesin in oral preparations for human therapeutic use except when labelled –

(d) in slow release preparations.

2115.  Sodium nitrite for therapeutic use (excluding when present as an excipient).

5Schedule 3 amended (Potent Substances) Schedule 3 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after item 3002 the following:

3002M.  Alclometasone in preparations for dermal use containing 0.05% or less of alclometasone in packs containing 30g or less of such preparations.

(b) by inserting after item 3028 the following:

3028M.  Flurbiprofen in divided preparations for topical oral use containing 10mg or less of flurbiprofen per dosage unit.

(c) by inserting after item 3057 the following:

3057M.  Tranexamic acid for the treatment of menorrhagia.

(a) when included in Schedule 4 or 5 ; or
(b) when enclosed in an inhaler device which prevents ingestion of its contents; or
(c) in solid or semi-solid preparations containing 12.5% or less of camphor; or
(d) in liquid preparations containing 2.5% or less of camphor; or
(e) in essential oils when the camphor is present as a natural component of the oil –
