Poisons List Amendment Order 1999

I make the following order under section 15(1) of the Poisons Act 1971 .8 March 1999

1Short titleThis order may be cited as the Poisons List Amendment Order 1999 . 2CommencementThis order takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal OrderIn this order, the Poisons List Order 1998 is referred to as the Principal Order. 4Schedule 2 amended (Medicinal Poisons) Schedule 2 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after paragraph (b) in item 2057 the following:

2057E.  Hyoscine butylbromide as the only therapeutically active substance in divided preparations for oral use containing 10 mg or less of hyoscine butylbromide in each dosage unit in a pack containing 20 or less dosage units.

(b) by omitting item 2060 and substituting the following:

2060.  Ibuprofen in divided preparations for oral use containing 200mg or less of ibuprofen in each dosage unit, in a pack containing 50 or less dosage units labelled with a recommended daily dose of not more than 1 200mg of ibuprofen.

5Schedule 3 amended (Potent Substances) Schedule 3 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after item 3003 the following:

3004.  Amorolfine in topical preparations containing 5% or less of amorolfine for the treatment of onychomycoses.

(b) by omitting item 3017 and substituting the following:

3017.	Dexchlorpheniramine in oral preparations except when –
(a) included in Schedule 2 ; or
(b) supplied specifically for use, or labelled as suitable, for the sedation of children.

(c) by omitting item 3033 ; (d) by inserting after item 3035 the following:

3035M.  Levocabastine in topical eye or nasal preparations.

6Schedule 4 amended (Restricted Substances) Schedule 4 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after item 40021 the following:

40021S.  Alatrofloxacin mesylate.

(b) by inserting after item 40035 the following:

40035S.  Alteplase.

(c) by omitting item 40064 and substituting the following:

40064.  Amorolfine except when included in Schedule 3 .

(d) by omitting item 40394 and substituting the following:

40394.	Dihydrocodeine when compounded with one or more other therapeutically active substances –
(a) in divided preparations containing not more than 100mg of dihydrocodeine per dosage unit; or
(b) in undivided preparations with a concentration of not more than 2.5% of dihydrocodeine –
except when included in Schedule 2 or 3 .

(e) by omitting item 40527 ; (f) by inserting after item 40528 the following:

(g) by inserting after item 40577 the following:

7Schedule 5 amended (Domestic Poisons) Schedule 5 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by omitting item 5105 ; (b) by omitting item 5175 ; (c) by omitting item 5204 and substituting the following:

5204.	N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone –
(a) when packed in single-use containers having a capacity of 2ml or less; or
(b) in preparations containing 50% or less of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or preparations containing 50% or less of a mixture of any 2 or more of N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, N-(N-octyl)-2-pyrrolidone or N-(N-dodecyl)-2-pyrrolidone except in preparations containing 25% or less of designated solvents.
5204M.	N-(N-dodecyl)-2-pyrrolidone in preparations containing 50% or less of N-(N-dodecyl)-2-pyrrolidone or preparations containing 50% or less of a mixture of any 2 or more of N-(N-dodecyl)-2-pyrrolidone, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone or N-(N-octyl)-2-pyrrolidone except in preparations containing 25% or less of designated solvents.

(d) by omitting item 5215 ; (e) by inserting after paragraph (c) in item 5216 the following:

5216J.  Oxythioquinox.

(f) by omitting item 5228 ; (g) by inserting after paragraph (c) in item 5229 the following:

5229J.  Pirimicarb in preparations containing 0.5% or less of pirimicarb.

(h) by omitting item 5236M ; (i) by inserting after item 5260 the following:

5260J.  Sodium dodecylbenxene sulfonate except in preparations containing 30% or less of Sodium dodecylbenxene sulfonate.

(j) by inserting after paragraph (b) in item 5266 the following:

5266M.  Sodium percarbonate (CAS No. 15630-89-4) in preparations containing 35% or less of sodium percarbonate except in preparations containing 15% or less of sodium percarbonate.

(k) by omitting item 5274 ; (l) by inserting after item 5275 the following:

5275S.  2,3,6-TBA.

(m) by omitting item 5285 ; (n) by inserting after paragraph (c) in item 5286 the following:

5286E.  Tetramethrin, where (R, cis):(R, trans) = 20:80, except in pressurised spray packs.

8Schedule 6 amended (Agricultural and Industrial Poisons) Schedule 6 to the Principal Order is amended as follows: (a) by inserting after item 6118 the following:

6118J.  2,4-dichlorprop.

(b) by inserting after paragraph (b) in item 6154 the following:

6154S.  Ethephon (excluding its salts and derivatives).

(c) by omitting item 6174 and substituting the following:

6174.  Fenoxacrim in preparations for the treatment of carpets during manufacture.

(d) by inserting after item 6231 the following:

6231M.  Mecoprop.

(e) by inserting after paragraph (b) in item 6271 the following:

6271E.	N-(N-dodecyl)-2-pyrrolidone except –
(a) when included in Schedule 5 ; or
(b) in preparations containing 25% or less of designated solvents.
6271H.	N-(N-octyl)-2-pyrrolidone except –
(a) when included in Schedule 5 ; or
(b) in preparations containing 25% or less of designated solvents.

9Schedule 7 amended (Dangerous Poisons) Schedule 7 to the Principal Order is amended by omitting item 7112 and substituting:

7112.  Fenoxacrim except –

(a) when included in Schedule 6 ; or

(b) in treated carpets.
