His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966.

Explanatory note
The Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 1994 adopts by reference certain provisions of the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Drugs and Poisons as published and amended from time to time by the Australian Health Ministers Advisory Council (the Uniform Standard). The Uniform Standard is now to be prepared and amended by the National Drugs and Poisons Schedule Committee in accordance with Part 5B of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 of the Commonwealth.
The object of this Regulation is to replace the definition of Uniform Standard in the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 1994 to take account of these new arrangements.
This Regulation is made under the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1966, including section 45C (the general regulation-making power).

1 Name of Regulation
This Regulation is the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Amendment
(Uniform Standard) Regulation 2000.
2 Amendment of Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 1994
The Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 1994 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

Dictionary
Omit the definition of Uniform Standard. Insert instead:
Uniform Standard has the same meaning as “current Poisons Standard” has in Part 5B of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 of the Commonwealth.
