The Australian Capital Territory Executive makes the following Regulations under the Poisons and Drugs Act 1978.

Commencement

1.  These Regulations commence on the day on which the Poisons and Drugs (Amendment) Act 1994 commences.

Principal Regulations

2.  In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Poisons and Drugs Regulations.

Insertion

3.  The Principal Regulations are amended by inserting after regulation 4 the following regulations:

Prescribed restricted substances

“4A. For the purposes of section 27B of the Act, the restricted substances specified in column 1 of Schedule 3 are prescribed.

Prescribed class—restricted substances

“4B. For the purposes of section 27E of the Act, the class of persons specified in column 2 of Schedule 3 is prescribed in relation to the substance specified opposite it in column 1.”.

4.  The Principal Regulations are amended by adding at the end the following Schedule:

Etretinate specialists practising in the field of dermatology or specialist physicians
Isotretinoin specialists practising in the field of dermatology or specialist physicians
Luteinising hormone specialists practising in the field of endocrinology, gynaecology or obstetrics
Thalidomide specialists practising in the field of dermatology or specialist physicians
Urofollitrophin (human follicle stimulating hormone) specialists practising in the field of endocrinology, gynaecology or obstetrics
