POISONS ACT 1964
POISONS AMENDMENT REGULATIONS (NO. 5) 1994
Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation
1. These regulations may be cited as the Poisons Amendment Regulations
(No. 5) 1994.
Principal regulations
2. In these regulations the Poisons Regulations 1965* are referred to as the
principal regulations.

Regulation 2 amended
3. Regulation 2 of the principal regulations is amended —
(a) substance"; in the definition of "external" by deleting "or hazardous (b)
by inserting after the definition of "immediate wrapper" the following definition —
"internal" in relation to the use of a poison, means
administration —
(a)
orally except for topical effect in the mouth; or
(b)
for absorption and the production of a systemic effect —
(0 by way of a body orifice other than the mouth; or (ii) parenterally, other than by
application to unbroken skin;
"; and
in the definition of "SUSDP" by inserting after "Canberra" the
(c) following — lt
as amended by AMENDMENT NO. I adopted by the Council's Public Health Committee and as effective on 4 March 1994.
Regulation 38A amended
4. Regulation 38A of the principal regulations is amended by deleting
"sulphadiazine" in the 3 places where it occurs and substituting in each place
the following —
a sulfadiazine Regulation 38D amended
5. Regulation 38D of the principal regulations is amended by inserting after
"etretinate" in the 9 places where it occurs the following — or acetretin
Regulation 38J amended
6. Regulation 38J of the principal regulations is amended in the Table —
(a) by deleting "sulphamonomethoxine" and substituting the following —
" sulfamonomethoxine "; and
(b) by deleting "sulphatroxazole" and substituting the following — sulfatroxazole
