Poisons Amendment Regulations 2010
Made by the Lieutenant-Governor and Administrator in Executive
Council.1. Citation
These regulations are the Poisons Amendment Regulations 2010.
2. Commencement
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette; (b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day. 3. Regulations amended
These regulations amend the Poisons Regulations 1965.
4. Regulation 2 amended
(1) In regulation 2(1) insert in alphabetical order: registered midwife means a midwife as defined in the
Nurses and Midwives Act 2006;
(2) In regulation 2(1) in the definition of supply after “registered
nurse” insert:or registered midwife
5. Regulation 42 amended
In regulation 42(1):
(a) in paragraph (f) delete “public”; (b) after paragraph (f) insert:
(ga) a registered midwife employed in a hospital (so
far as the possession or use of such poison
included in Schedule 8 is required in

connection with its administration to a patient
under the instruction of a medical practitioner);and
(c) after each of paragraphs (a), (b) and (e) insert: and
6. Regulation 56H amended
In regulation 56H after “registered nurse” insert:
or registered midwife
