Poisons Amendment Regulations 2006

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Poisons Act 1971 .4 December 2006

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Poisons Amendment Regulations 2006 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which their making is notified in the Gazette. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Poisons Regulations 2002 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 21 amended (Minister's authorisation for possession and supply of narcotic substance) Regulation 21 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows: (a) by omitting from paragraph (b) "practitioner." and substituting "practitioner;"; (b) by inserting the following paragraph after paragraph (b) : (c) where the registered nurse is employed in a medical institution approved by the Secretary at which it is impractical for medical practitioners to attend after hours and the nurse is acting in accordance with the instructions of a medical practitioner. 5Regulation 61 amended (Minister's authorisation for possession and supply of restricted substances) Regulation 61 of the Principal Regulations is amended by inserting after paragraph (b) the following paragraph: (ba) where the registered nurse is employed in a medical institution approved by the Secretary at which it is impractical for medical practitioners to attend after hours and the nurse is acting in accordance with the instructions of a medical practitioner;
