PODIATRISTS ACT 1989—REGULATION
(Relating to the provision of basic foot care)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Podiatrists Act 1989, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Podiatrists Regulation 1990 is amended by omitting from clause 25 (2) (a) and (b) the word “and” wherever occurring and by inserting instead the word “or”.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
Clause 25 (2) of the Podiatrists Regulation 1990 states that a person may provide
basic foot care to another person if she or he:
. has completed a recognised course of training; and
.
hasdemonstratedskillsinidentifying basic foot abnormalities for the purpose of referral to an appropriate professional; and
.
is employed ina hospital, nursing homeorcommunityhealthcentreand provides basic foot care as part of her or his normal duties.
The object of this Regulation is to allow a person to provide basic foot care if the
person meets any one of the above requirements.
This Regulation is made under the Podiatrists Act 1989. including section 4 (2)
(b).
