Plumbing Amendment Regulations 2019

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Plumbing Regulations 2018—

(a)to make amendments consequential to the commencement of the 2019 edition of the National Construction Code; and

(b)to make other miscellaneous amendments.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 221ZZZV and 262 of the Building Act 1993.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Plumbing Regulations 2018[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions

(1)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert the following definitions—

"AS/NZS 5149.1 means AS/NZS 5149.1 Refrigerating systems and heat pumps—Safety and environmental requirements—Part 1: Definitions, classification and selection criteria (ISO 5149-1:2014, MOD), as issued, published or remade from time to time;

AS/NZS 5149.2 means AS/NZS 5149.2 Refrigerating systems and heat pumps—Safety and environmental requirements—Part 2: Design, construction, testing, marking and documentation (ISO 5149-2:2014, MOD), as issued, published or remade from time to time;

AS/NZS 5149.3 means AS/NZS 5149.3 Refrigerating systems and heat pumps—Safety and environmental requirements—Part 3: Installation site (ISO 5149-3:2014, MOD), as issued, published or remade from time to time;

AS/NZS 5149.4 means AS/NZS 5149.4 Refrigerating systems and heat pumps—Safety and environmental requirements—Part 4: Operation, maintenance, repair and recovery (ISO 5149-4:2014, MOD), as issued, published or remade from time to time;".

(2)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, in the definition of AS/NZS 6400, for "AS/NZ 6400" substitute "AS/NZS 6400".

(3)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, the definitions of AS/NZS ISO 5149.1,

AS/NZS ISO 5149.2

, AS/NZS ISO 5149.3, AS/NZS ISO 5149.4 are revoked.

5PCA forms part of these Regulations

In regulation 7 of the Principal Regulations, for "Subject to regulation 8, the PCA" substitute "The PCA".

6Modifications to the PCA

(1)For regulation 9(2) of the Principal Regulations substitute—

"(2)   The PCA is to be read as if any document which is a referenced document in the PCA is a reference to the latest edition of that document as issued, published or remade from time to time.".

(2)Regulation 9(3) of the Principal Regulations is revoked.

7Schedule 2 amended

(1)For clause 4(b) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"(b)AS/NZS 5149.1;".

(2)For clause 4(c) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"(c)AS/NZS 5149.2;".

(3)For clause 4(d) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"(d)AS/NZS 5149.3;".

(4)For clause 4(e) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations substitute—

"(e)AS/NZS 5149.4;".
