Plumbing (Amendment) Regulations 1999

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to exempt, for a limited period, registered plumbers, licensed plumbers and other persons authorised to carry out plumbing work from complying with a prescribed standard relating to ductwork.

2. Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections

221ZZZV and 262 of the Building Act 1993.

3. Amendment

At the end of regulation 31 of the Plumbing
Regulations 19981 insert—

"(2) Despite sub-regulation (1)(b), a registered

plumber, licensed plumber or other person
authorised to carry out plumbing work under
the Building Act 1993 is not required to
comply with AS 4254–1995: Ductwork for

Plumbing (Amendment) Regulations 1999

air-handling systems in buildings during the
period beginning on the date of
commencement of regulation 3 of the
Plumbing (Amendment) Regulations 1999

and ending on 18 May 1999.".
