Made by the Governor in Executive Council.
These regulations are the
These regulations come into operation as follows —
(a) regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published on the WA legislation website;
(b) the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.
These regulations amend the
(1) In regulation 3(1) delete the definition of
dwelling .(2) In regulation 3(1) insert in alphabetical order:
(a) means the following —
(i) a Class 1a or 4 building;
(ii) a sole‑occupancy unit (as defined in the Plumbing Code Schedule 1) in a Class 2 building;
(iii) a Class 10a building that is for the use of a resident of a Class 1a building;
but
(b) does not include a building under construction;
(3) In regulation 3(1) in the definitions of
restricted plumbing permit (rainwater storage) andrestricted plumbing permit (water heater) delete “the permit” and insert:
a restricted plumbing permit of the kind
(4) In regulation 3(1) in the definition of
sewer delete “3(1);” and insert:
71(1);
In regulation 5(2)(d) delete “Western Australian Drainage Association” and insert:
Assoc of Hydraulic Services Consultants Aust WA Chapter Inc
After regulation 9 insert:
(1) In this regulation —
(a) the maintenance, testing, repair or replacement of an existing property sewer connection;
(b) the installation of a property sewer connection in connection with the installation of a new sewer.
(2) Regulation 9(1) does not apply to a person who carries out relevant drainage plumbing work while engaged by, or under the direction and control of, a sewerage service licensee (the
(3) Regulation 44A applies to a relevant licensee as if a reference in that regulation —
(a) to a licensed plumbing contractor were a reference to the relevant licensee; and
(b) to minor plumbing work were a reference to relevant drainage plumbing work.
(4) Part 7 Division 2 (other than regulation 70) applies to relevant drainage plumbing work as if the relevant licensee —
(a) had carried out, and was responsible for, the work; and
(b) was a licensed plumbing contractor.
In regulation 11:
(a) in paragraph (d) delete “permit (water heater); and” and insert:
permit.
(b) delete paragraph (e).
In regulation 13D(3)(c) delete “overflow pipe” and insert:
drain line
In regulation 13E in the note delete “within 12 months of the day on which the

(1) In regulation 45E(4)(b) delete “1 July 2022 at p. 4039‑40.” and insert:
19 January 2024.
(2) Delete regulation 45E(5).
In regulation 48(1):
(a) delete “to plumbing and” and insert:
to, and in connection with, the carrying out of

In regulation 50(b) delete “in a tradesman like manner.” and insert:
with reasonable care and skill.
In the heading to Part 6A delete “

In regulation 59(1) delete “plumbing and”.
In regulation 71(1)(d) delete “in a tradesman like manner.” and insert:
with reasonable care and skill.
(1) In Schedule 3 delete clause 8(1).
(2) In Schedule 3 clause 8(2)(a) delete “the end of the 12‑month period beginning on commencement day; and” and insert:
10 February 2026; and
(3) In Schedule 3 clause 8(2)(c) delete “ending on commencement day,” and insert:
immediately before 10 February 2025,
