An Ordinance to amend the Plumbers, Drainers and Gasfitters Board Ordinance 1982

Short title

1.  This Ordinance may be cited as the Plumbers, Drainers and Gasfitters Board (Amendment) Ordinance 1984.1

Commencement

2.  This Ordinance shall come into operation on 22 August 1984.

Principal Ordinance

3.  In this Ordinance, “Principal Ordinance” means the Plumbers, Drainers and Gasfitters Board Ordinance 1982.2

Interpretation

4.  Section 3 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by inserting after the definition of “Deputy Chairman” the following definition:

“ ‘determined fee’ means a fee determined by the Minister under section 45A for the purposes of the provision in which the expression occurs;”.

Register of Plumbers, Drainers and Gasfitters

5.  Section 23 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub‑section (4) “prescribed fee” and substituting “determined fee”.

Certificates of competency

6.  Section 24 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub‑section (2) “prescribed fee” and substituting “determined fee”.

Licences

7.  Section 25 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub‑section (2) “prescribed fee” and substituting “determined fee”.

Expiry and renewal of licence

8.  Section 29 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting from sub‑section (2) “prescribed fee” and substituting “determined fee”.

Refund of fees

9.  Section 45 of the Principal Ordinance is amended by omitting “prescribed”.

10.  After section 45 of the Principal Ordinance the following section is inserted:

Power of Minister to determine fees

“45A.  The Minister may, by notice in writing published in the Gazette, determine fees for the purposes of this Ordinance.”.
