s1 2 s5 Plant Protection (Papaya Fruit Fly—Mt Isa) Quarantine No. 49, 1997 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Plant Protection (Papaya Fruit Fly—Mt Isa) Quarantine Regulation 1997 . ˙ Definition 2. In this regulation— “pest quarantine area” means the pest quarantine area declared under section 3. ˙ Pest quarantine area 3. The area within a radius of 15 km of the General Post Office at the corner of Isa Street and Camooweal Street, Mount Isa is declared to be a pest quarantine area. ˙ Restriction on fruit movement 4. A person must not move fruit out of the pest quarantine area unless the fruit is moved with an inspector’s approval. ˙ Restriction on selling fruit 5. A person must not sell fruit in the pest quarantine area that— (a) has a visible symptom showing that the fruit may be infested with the pest papaya fruit fly; and (b) is infested with the pest. Examples of visible symptoms under paragraph (a)— • A visible breakdown or rotting of any part of the fruit. • The visible presence of larvae within the fruit.
