2 Plant Protection (Banana Black Sigatoka) Quarantine No. 148, 1997 ˙ Short title 1. This notice may be cited as the Plant Protection (Banana Black Sigatoka) Quarantine Notice 1997 . ˙ Pest quarantine area 2. The area within 50 km of the place situated at latitude 16° 13' 59" south and longitude 145° 22' 06" east is declared to be a pest quarantine area (the “pest quarantine area” ). ˙ Restriction on plant movement 3.(1) A person must not, without an inspector’s approval, move a banana plant— (a) from a property within the pest quarantine area to another property within the area; or (b) out of the pest quarantine area. (2) A person must not, without an inspector’s approval, move any machinery, equipment, package or other thing that has been in contact with a banana plant— (a) from a property within the pest quarantine area to another property within the area; or (b) out of the pest quarantine area.
