An Act to amend the Plant Diseases Act 1914.
[Assented to 1 November 2001]
The Parliament of Western Australia enacts as follows:
1. Short title
| This Act may be cited as the Plant Diseases Amendment Act 2001. |

2. Commencement
| This Act comes into operation on the day on which it receives the Royal Assent. |
3. The Act amended
| The amendments in this Act are to the Plant Diseases Act 1914*. |

4. Section 23 amended
| (1) | Section 23(2)(a) is amended by inserting after “inspect any” — |
| “ premises, ”. | |
| (2) | After section 23(2) the following subsection is inserted — |
“
| (2a) | For the purposes of carrying out functions under subsection (2), an inspector may — |
| (a) | enter any premises, conveyance, or vessel; |
| (b) | remove part or all of a consignment, package, container or any other thing from the control of the person apparently in charge of it; |
| (c) | open any container or package. |
”.
