AN ACT to amend the Plant Diseases Act, 1914-1958.

[Assented to 24th December, 1958.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Plant

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act

may be cited as the Plant Diseases Act, 1914-1958.

This Act shall come into operation on a day to

be fixed by proclamation.

Section twelve C of the principal Act is

amended

by substituting for the words, "one shilling" in lines four and five of paragraph (B) of item (I) of subparagraph (v) of paragraph (d), the words, "two shillings"; and

Section thirty-nine of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the passage, "at two shillings and that other registration fees may be graded from two shillings and sixpence upwards, according to area" in lines seven, eight, nine and ten of paragraph (c) of subsection (2), the following-

(i)    for an orchard in which less than twenty- five fruit trees or fruit vines are planted— at two shillings;

(ii)    for a nursery of any area—at two shillings,

(iii)    for an orchard, or for any part of an orchard, in the area of which are planted not less than twenty-five fruit trees or fruit vines— at two shillings if and while the fruit trees and fruit vines are less than four years old;

(iv)    for an orchard in which are planted fruit trees or fruit vines to a number of more than twenty-four and of less than one hundred—at five shillings; and

(v)    for an orchard of not less than one acre planted with fruit trees or fruit vines—at five shillings for each acre, and at five shillings for each additional part of an acre, of the orchard.
