| year of His present Majesty's reign intituled " An Act for the better | |
| "preservation of the Ports Harbours Havens Roadsteads Channels " Navigable Creeks and Rivers in New South Wales and the, better " regulation of Shipping in the same " And whereas it is expedient to | |
| increase the said rates and charges of Pilotage in certain cases Be it therefore enacted by His Excellency the Governor of New South Wales with the advice of the Legislative Council thereof That from and after the first day of September one thousand eight hundred and |
4 o thirty-six thirty-six in addition to the rate and charge for Pilotage payable under the provisions of the said recited Act there shall and may be charged by every Pilot from Port Jackson who shall proceed to sea and board any ship or vessel about to enter the said port at a greater distance than six miles from the Heads of Poi"t Jackson and within ten miles therefrom the sum of three pounds sterling at a greater distance than ten miles from the said Heads of Port Jackson and within fifteen miles therefrom the sum of five pounds sterling and at a greater distance than fifteen miles from the said Heads of Port Jackson the sum of eight pounds sterling and which sums shall res pectively be received from the master or commander of such ship or vessel Provided always and it is hereby expressly declared that nothing in this Act shall compel or be deemed or construed to compel the master or commander to employ such Pilot at a greater distance than six miles from the said Heads of Port Jackson.
