(a) The form of introductory words used to make Statutory Rules 1980 No. 294 was as follows:
"WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (1) of the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 that the rate of levy imposed by that Act in respect of pigs slaughtered on or after 1 July 1975 is the amount in respect of each pig slaughtered equal to the aggregate of:
(a) such amount (not exceeding 20 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act; and
(b) such amount (not exceeding 20 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act:
"AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (2) of that Act that, before making regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Pig Industry Research Committee constituted under the Pig Industry Research Act 1971, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS that Pig Industry Research Committee has recommended to the Minister that the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act in respect of each pig slaughtered should be 10 cents and that amount is the amount last so recommended by that Research Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (3) of that Act that, before making regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Pig Meat Promotion Advisory Committee constituted under the Pig Meat Promotion Act 1975, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS that Pig Meat Promotion Advisory Committee has recommended to the Minister that the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act in respect of each pig slaughtered should be 20 cents and that amount is the amount last so recommended by that Advisory Committee to the Minister:
"NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, and after taking into consideration recommendations made to the Minister by those Committees in respect of those amounts, hereby make the following Regulations under the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971."
The form of introductory words used to make Statutory Rules 1975 No. 123 was similar to the form set out above.
(b) The form of introductory words used to make Statutory Rules 1977 No. 30 was as follows:
"WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (1) of the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 that the rate of the levy imposed by that Act in respect of pigs slaughtered on or after 1 July 1975 is an amount in respect of each pig slaughtered equal to the aggregate of:
(a) such amount (not exceeding 10 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act; and
(b) such amount (not exceeding 5 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act:
"AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (2) of that Act that, before making regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Pig Industry Research Committee, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS the Pig Industry Research Committee has recommended to the Minister that the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act in respect of each pig slaughtered should be 8 cents and that amount is the amount last so recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the above-mentioned recommendation made to the Minister by the Pig Industry Research Committee, hereby make the following Regulations under the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971."
(c) The form of introductory words used to make Statutory Rules 1978 No. 268 was as follows:
"WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (1) of the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 that the rate of the levy imposed by that Act in respect of pigs slaughtered on or after 1 July 1975 is an amount in respect of each pig slaughtered equal to the aggregate of:
(a) such amount (not exceeding 20 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act; and
(b) such amount (not exceeding 20 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act:
"AND WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (3) of that Act that, before making regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Pig Meat Promotion Advisory Committee, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS the Pig Meat Promotion Advisory Committee has recommended to the Minister that the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act in respect of each pig slaughtered should be 13 cents and that amount is the amount last so recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the above-mentioned recommendation made to the Minister by the Pig Meat Promotion Advisory Committee, hereby make the following Regulations under the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971."
(d) The form of introductory words used to make Statutory Rules 1981 No. 284 was as follows:
"WHEREAS it is provided by subsection 6 (3) of the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 that, before making regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Promotion Committee, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
"AND WHEREAS the amount last so recommended is 60 cents:
"NOW THEREFORE I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, and after taking into consideration recommendations made to the Minister by that Committee in respect of that amount, hereby make the following Regulations under the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971."

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 1 
Citation 


  1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pig Slaughter Levy Regulations.*1*

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 2 
Commencement 


  2. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 July 1975.

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 2A 
Interpretation 


  2A. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears, "Act" means
the Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971.

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 3 
Prescribed amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of the Act 


  3. For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of the Act, the amount of 70
cents in respect of each pig slaughtered is prescribed.

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 4 
Prescribed amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of the Act 


  4. For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of the the Act, the amount in
respect of each pig slaughtered is $1.65.

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 4A 
Prescribed amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (c) of the Act 


  4A. For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (c) of the Act, the amount of 0.90
cent in respect of each pig slaughtered is prescribed.

PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY REGULATIONS - REG 5 
Repeal 


  5. The Pig Slaughter Levy Regulations, being Statutory Rules 1971, No. 117,
are repealed.
