Pig Slaughter Levy Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
I, THE ADMINISTRATOR of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration:
(a) the latest recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of the
Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 made to the Minister of State for Primary Industries and Energy by the Pig Research and Development Corporation; and(b) the recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (c) of the
Pig Slaughter Levy Act 1971 made to the Minister of State for Primary Industries and Energy by the members of the Exotic Animal Disease Preparedness Consultative Council (being the Council established by theExotic Animal Disease Control Act 1989 ) nominated by the National Farmers’ Federation;
make the following Regulations under the

1.1 These Regulations commence on 1 July 1991.
2.1 The Pig Slaughter Levy Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.
3.1 After regulation 2, insert:
“2a. In
these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears,
4.1 Omit the regulation, substitute:
For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of the Act, the amount of 55 cents in respect of each pig slaughtered is prescribed.”.
5.1 Omit “
6.1 After regulation 4, insert:
“4a. For the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (c) of the Act, the amount of 1.433 cents in respect of each pig slaughtered is prescribed.”.
