Pig Slaughter Levy Regulations (Amendment) (Cth)
REGULATIONS UNDER THE PIG SLAUGHTER LEVY ACT 1971.*
WHEREAS
it is provided by sub-section 6 (1) of the
(a) such amount (not exceeding 10 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act; and
(b) such amount (not exceeding 5 cents) as is prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (b) of that Act:
AND WHEREAS it is provided by sub-section 6 (2) of that Act that, before ranking regulations prescribing an amount for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act, the Governor-General shall take into consideration any recommendation with respect to the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph made to the Minister by the Pig Industry Research Committee, and regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of that paragraph that is greater than the amount last recommended by that Committee tothe Minister:
AND WHEREAS the Pig Industry Research Committee has recommended to the Minister that the amount to be prescribed for the purposes of paragraph 6 (1) (a) of that Act in respect of each pig slaughtered should be 8 cents and that amount is the amount last so recommended by that Committee to the Minister:
NOW THEREFORE I, THE
GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of
the Federal Executive Council and after taking into consideration the
above-mentioned recommendation made to the Minister by the Pig Industry
Research Committee, hereby make the following Regulations under the
