REGULATIONS UNDER THE POST AND TELEGRAPH ACT 1901-1971.*

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the Post and Telegraph Act 1901-1971.

Amendments of the Picturegram Regulations

Commencement.

1. These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 October, 1973.

Matter which may be accepted by transmission as picturegrams.

2. Regulation 6 of the Picturegram Regulations is amended—

(a) by omitting from sub-regulation (8) the words and figures “ 10 inches by 8 inches ” and substituting the words and figures “ 25.4 centimetres by 20.4 centimetres ”;

(b) by omitting from paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (9) the words and figures “ 10 inches by 7 inches ” and substituting the words and figures “25.4 centimetres by 17.8 centimetres ”; and

(c) by omitting from paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (9) the words and figures “ 18 per linear inch or 160 letters per square inch ” and substituting the words and figures “ 7 per linear centimetre or 42 letters per square centimetre ”.

Schedule of Rates.

3. Regulation 15 of the Picturegram Regulations is amended by omitting the table in that regulation and substituting the following table:—
