s1 2 s5 Physiotherapy Amendment (No. 1) No. 111, 1997 ˙ Short title 1. This regulation may be cited as the Physiotherapy Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 1997 . ˙ Regulation amended 2. This regulation amends the Physiotherapy Regulation 1965 . ˙ Replacement of s 1 3. Section 1— omit, insert — ˙ ‘ Short title ‘ 1. This regulation may be cited as the PhysiotherapistsRegulation1965 .’. ˙ Amendment of s 16 (Prescribed qualifications for applicants whose qualifications were obtained outside Queensland) 4.(1) Section 16(1)— insert — ‘(d) in Canada—are set out in section 19A; and (e) in South Africa—are set out in section 19B.’. (2) Section 16(2), ‘or 19’— omit, insert — ‘, 19, 19A or 19B’. ˙ Insertion of new ss 19A and 19B 5. After section 19— insert —

The prescribed qualifications for an applicant who holds an educational qualification from Canada stated in schedule 2 are— (a) completion of 1 year of full-time practice in physiotherapy (or the equivalent part-time practice) during the 5 years immediately before the day of application; and (b) completion of the necessary internship requirements to qualify for membership of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. ˙ ‘ Qualifications from South Africa ‘ 19B. The prescribed qualification for an applicant who holds an educational qualification from South Africa stated in schedule 2 is the completion of 1 year of full-time practice in physiotherapy (or the equivalent part-time practice) during the 5 years immediately before the day of application.’. ˙ Insertion of new sch 2 6.
