131 Quallstartbr ANNO SEXTO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 19 of 1967 An Act to Amend "The Pharmacy Acts, 1917 to 1959," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 7TH APRIL, 1967] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Pharmacy Acts Amendment Act of 1967." (2) Principal Act. " The Pharmacy Acts, 1917 to 1959 ," are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title . The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Pharmacy Acts, 1917 to 1967."
132 Pharmacy Acts Amendment Act of 1967, No. 19 2. Repeal of s. 7 (2). Section seven of the Principal Act is amended by repealing subsection (2). 3. Amendments to s. 10 . Section ten of the Principal Act is amended by,- (a) in subsection (3),- (i) omitting provision (c); (ii) omitting provision (d) and inserting in its stead the following provision:- (c) In any other place wherein he has gained, in the opinion of the Board, adequate practical training in matters pertaining to pharmacy,"; (iii) omitting the proviso and inserting in its stead the following proviso:- " Provided that the Board may, as it deems fit in the circumstances. reduce the period prescribed by this subsection to be served by an applicant by a period not exceeding six months where it is satisfied that the applicant in question has, after obtaining the qualification prescribed by paragraph (c) of subsection one of this section, served as a member of the teaching staff of the Pharmacy Department of a University in Queensland for a period of one year.": (iv) adding the following paragraph:- " Where service of an applicant in employment prescribed by this subsection has terminated within a period of one month after his commencing the same such service shall not be taken into account by the Board in proof of service in such employment for a period of twelve months unless the applicant further proves to the satisfaction of the Board that the termination of such service within one month was due to circumstances beyond his control." ; (b) in subsection (4), inserting before the paragraph commencing with the words " For the purposes" the following paragraph:- Notwithstanding the provisions of the first paragraph of this subsection, where a person who applies by virtue of a qualification prescribed by paragraph (d) of subsection one of this section has, prior to his obtaining such qualification, obtained practical experience in matters pertaining to pharmacy which, in the opinion of the Board, is equivalent to the experience expected to be gained in the service prescribed by subsection three of this section the Board may (and it is hereby declared always could)- (a) grant registration to such applicant without his serving any period of employment as prescribed by subparagraph (a) of the first paragraph of this subsection; or (b) apply the whole or part of the period of such experience, as it deems fit in the circumstances, towards the period of employment prescribed by such subparagraph whereupon the period so applied shall, for the purposes of this section, be deemed to be a like period of such employment served by such applicant subsequent to his obtaining such qualification." 4. Repeal of ss. 14A to 14D. The Principal Act is amended by repealing sections 14A, 14B, 14c and 14D.

Section nineteen of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " five hundred dollars ". 6. Amendment to s. 20. Section twenty of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (1), omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " two hundred and fifty dollars ". 7. Amendments to s. 23. Section twenty-three of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " twenty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " five hundred dollars "; (b) omitting the words " three pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " fifty dollars ". .8. Amendments to s. 24 . Section twenty-four of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in the second paragraph, omitting the words " ten pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty dollars "; (b) in the last paragraph, (i) omitting the words " twenty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred and fifty dollars "; (ii) omitting the words " three pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty-five dollars ". 9. Amendments to s. 25. Section twenty-five of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (5),- (a) omitting the words " five hundred pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one thousand dollars "; (b) omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred dollars "; (c) omitting the words " twenty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred and fifty dollars "; (d) omitting the words " three pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty-five dollars ". 10. Amendments to s. 25A . Section 25A of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " five hundred pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one thousand dollars "; (b) omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred dollars ". 11. Amendments to s. 258 . Section 25a of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " five hundred pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one thousand dollars "; (b.) omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred dollars ". 12. Amendments to s. 26. Section twenty-six of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) omitting the words " twenty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred and fifty dollars ";
134 Pharmacy Acts Amendment Act of 1967, No. 19 (b) omitting the words " three pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty-five dollars "; (c) omitting the words " ten pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " twenty dollars ". 13. Amendments to s. 26A. Section 26A of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) adding to the existing paragraph the words " or between such other hours as the Board, from time to time by way of By-laws made under section thirty of this Act, prescribes "; (b) adding the following paragraph:- " The Board may make such By-laws to apply generally throughout the State or in respect of such part or parts of the State as the Board therein specifies and may so prescribe different hours in respect of different parts of the State". 14. Amendment to s. 28. Section twenty-eight of the Principal Act is amended by omitting the words " fifty pounds " and inserting in their stead the words " one hundred dollars ". 15. Repeal of s. 29. The Principal Act is amended by repealing section twenty-nine.
