PHARMACY ORDINANCE 1975
1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Pharmacy Ordinance
1975.*
(2 ) The Pharmacy Ordinance 193l-1974,f as amended by the
| Ordinances Revision (Health Commission) | Ordinance 1975,$ is in this |
Ordinance referred to as the Principal Ordinance.
(3) Schedule 2 to the Ordinances Revision (Health Commission)
Ordinance 1975 is amended—
(a) by omitting from Column 1 the words and figures "Phar
macy Ordinance 1931-1974"; and (b)
by omitting from Column 2 the words and figures "Phar macy Ordinance 1931-1975 ".

(4 ) The Principal Ordinance, as amended by this Ordinance, may
be cited as the Pharmacy Ordinance 1931-1975.
2. Section 25 of the Principal Ordinance is repealed and the
following section substituted:—
" 2 5 . (1) When any person has applied to be registered and has
proved to the satisfaction of the Board—
(a)
that he is entitled to apply for registration by virtue of compliance with the requirements specified in section 24; and

(b)
that the certificate or diploma testifying to his qualification was, after examination, duly obtained by him from such a society, college or board as is specified in section 24, and in the period during which he has held the certificate, his name has not been removed from the register of any country for any cause which would have, on its happening, disqualified him from being registered under this Ordinance and has not been removed from the register of persons entitled to practise pharmacy in the country concerned,
the Board may, subject to the succeeding sub-sections of this section, cause the person to be registered by entering in the Register his name and such other particulars as are prescribed and may issue to him, upon payment of the prescribed fee, a certificate in the prescribed form.
" (2 ) The Board shall not cause a person who applies for registra tion to be registered unless—
(a) he has, after obtaining the qualifications that, under section 24, make him eligible to apply for registration as a pharmacist, undergone practical training in a phar macy for periods of not less than 2,000 hours in the aggregate in the Territory, in a State, in the Northern Territory of Australia or in a place outside Australia under the direction and supervision of a person who, or persons each of whom, was entitled to practise pharmacy in the Territory, in that State, in the Northern Territory of Australia or in that place, as the case may be; or (b) he establishes that he has had such practical experience in pharmacy as will enable him to practise pharmacy efficiently.
" (3 ) Where a person has undergone the practical training referred to in paragraph ( 2 ) ( a ) in a place outside Australia, the Board may refuse to cause him to be registered unless the qualifications that entitle persons to practise pharmacy at that place are of a standard equivalent to the qualifications referred to in paragraph 24 ( a ) .
