Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Retention Lease Fees) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and pursuant to section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901,hereby make the following Regulations under the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Retention Lease Fees) Act 1985.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Retention Lease Fees) Regulations.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“the Act” means the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Retention Lease Fees) Act 1985.

Fees—subsection 4 (1) of the Act

3. For the purposes of subsection 4 (1) of the Act, the fee payable shall be calculated at the rate of $6,000 for each block to which the lease relates at the commencement of the year.
