Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 1)¹

Name of Regulations

These Regulations are the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Amendment Regulations 2009 (No. 1).

Commencement

These Regulations commence on 1 July 2009.

Amendment of Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Regulations 1994

Schedule 1 amends the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Fees Regulations 1994.

These Regulations are the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Annual Fees) Regulations 1994.

[2] Subregulation 3 (1), definition of Act

Act means the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage (Annual Fees) Act 2006.

Exploration permit fee

For subsection 4 (3) of the Act, the fee for an exploration permit for a year of the term of the permit is the greater of:

(a)$1 135; or

(b)$55 for each block to which the permit relates at the beginning of the year.

Retention lease fee

For subsection 4 (3) of the Act, the fee for a retention lease for a year of the term of the lease is $6 820 for each block to which the lease relates at the beginning of the year.

Production licence fee

For subsection 4 (3) of the Act, the fee for a production licence for a year of the term of the licence is $20 460 for each block to which the licence relates at the beginning of the year.

Infrastructure licence fee

For subsection 4 (3) of the Act, the fee for an infrastructure licence for a year of the term of the licence is $13 640.

Pipeline licence fee

For subsection 4 (3) of the Act, the fee for a pipeline licence for a year of the term of the licence is $90 per kilometre, or part of a kilometre, of the length of the pipeline at the beginning of the year.

Greenhouse gas holding lease fee

For subsection 4A (3) of the Act, the fee for a greenhouse gas holding lease for a year of the term of the lease is $6 820 for each block to which the lease relates at the beginning of the year.

Greenhouse gas injection licence fee

For subsection 4A (3) of the Act, the fee for a greenhouse gas injection licence for a year of the term of the licence is $20 460 for each block to which the licence relates at the beginning of the year.
