Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Exploration Permit Fees) Regulations

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council and pursuant to section 4 of the Acts Interpretation Act 1901, hereby make the following Regulations under the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Exploration Permit Fees) Act 1967.

Citation

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Exploration Permit Fees) Regulations.

Interpretation

2. In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

“the Act” means the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) (Exploration Permit Fees) Act 1967.

Permit fees—subsection 4 (1) of the Act

3. For the purposes of subsection 4(1) of the Act, the fee payable is:

(a) $1,000; or

(b) an amount calculated at a rate of $50 for each block to which the permit relates at the commencement of the year;

whichever is the greater.
