82 Quulvslan^ ANNO VICESIMO SEPTIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 8 of 1978 An Act to amend The Petroleum Products Subsidy Act of 1965 in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 24TH MAY, 1978] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Petroleum Products Subsidy Act Amendment Act 1978. (2) The Petroleum Products Subsidy Act of 1965 is in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Petroleum Products Subsidy Act1965-1978.

Petroleum Products Subsidy Act Amendment Act 1978, No. 8 83 2. Amendment of s. 2 . Section 2 of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1), (i) omitting the term " Commonwealth Minister " and its meaning and substituting the following term and meaning:- " " Commonwealth Minister " means the Minister of State for Business and Consumer Affairs of the Commonwealth and includes any Minister of State of the Commonwealth who at the material time is administering the StatesGrants(PetroleumProducts)Act1965 of the Commonwealth as amended; "; (ii) in the meaning of the term " Registered distributor of eligible petroleum products ", omitting the words " by the Commonwealth Minister "; (iii) omitting the term " Scheme " and its meaning and substituting the following term and meaning:- " " Scheme " means the scheme in force at the material time in relation to the State for the purposes of the States Grants(PetroleumProducts)Act, 1965 of the Commonwealth as amended; "; (b) in subsection (2), omitting the words " Where under the scheme the Commonwealth Minister directs " and substituting the words " Where in accordance with the scheme, it is directed ". 3. Amendment of s. 16 . Section 16 of the Principal Act is amended by, in subsection (2), in paragraph (a) inserting after the word " Commonwealth " the words " as amended ". 4. Amendments re penalties . Each provision of the Principal Act referred to in the first column of the schedule is amended by omitting from that provision the word or words set forth in the second column of the schedule opposite the reference to that provision and by substituting the expression set forth in the third column of the schedule opposite the word or words so omitted from that provision.
