His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Petroleum Products Subsidy Act 1997.

Explanatory note

which subsidies of certain petroleum products are paid.
The object of this Regulation is to omit those rates. Rates of subsidies are to be
prescribed by order of the Treasurer under section 4 (2) (b) of the Petroleum
Products Subsidy Act 1997.

The Petroleum Products Subsidy (1997 Act) Regulation 1999 specifies the rates at including sections 4 and 31 (the general regulation-making power).

1     Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Petroleum Products Subsidy (1997 Act)

Amendment (Rates) Regulation 2000.

2 Commencement

This Regulation commences on 28 July 2000.

3 Amendment of Petroleum Products Subsidy (1997 Act) Regulation 1999

The Petroleum Products Subsidy (1997 Act) Regulation 1999 is amended as set out in Schedule 1.

The explanatory note does not form part of this Regulation.

[1]     Clause 6 Rates of subsidy

Omit the clause.

[2]     Clause 7 Maximum subsidy

Insert “prescribed by order of the Treasurer under section 4 (2) (b) of the
Act” after “subsidy rate” in clause 7 (1).

[3]     Clause 7 (4)

Omit “basic”.

Omit the Schedule.
