PETROLEUM PIPELINES.

No. 42 of 1970.

AN ACT to amend the Petroleum Pipelines Act, 1969.

[Assented to 23rd September, 1970.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Petroleum and citation.

Pipelines Act Amendment Act, 1970.

(2) In this Act the Petroleum Pipelines Act, 1969,

is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may

be cited as the Petroleum Pipelines Act, 1969-1970.

Amendment

to s. 12.	2. Section 12 of the principal Act is amended
(Conditions of licence.)

(a)	by substituting for the word "The", being the first word in subsection (3), the passage "Subject to subsection (4) of this section, the"; and
(b)	by adding a subsection as follows

(4) Where the Minister is satisfied that the licensee has acquired any such ease- ment and is unable to register it, through circumstances beyond his control, the licensee, with the prior consent in writ- ing of the Minister, may, pending the registration of the easement, commence or cause to be commenced the construc- tion of the proposed pipeline over the land to which the easement relates, on such terms and conditions relating to the registration of the easement as the Minister thinks fit and specifies in the instrument of consent. .
