Part 1—Preliminary

1—Short title

These regulations may be cited as the Petroleum (Fees) Variation Regulations 2007.

2—Commencement

These regulations will come into operation on 1 July 2007.

3—Variation provisions

In these regulations, a provision under a heading referring to the variation of specified regulations varies the regulations so specified.

Part 2—Annual licence fees (section 78)

Preliminary survey licence

$2 720 or $0.95 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

Speculative survey licence

$2 720 or $0.95 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

Exploration licence—

    (a)    in relation to the first term of the licence

$2 720 or $0.95 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

    (b)    in relation to a licence granted on terms under which the licence is renewable for 1 further term—in relation to the second term

$2 720 or $1.55 per km2 of the licence area during the second term, whichever is the greater

    (c)     in relation to a licence granted on terms under which the licence is renewable for 2 further terms—

     (i)     in relation to the second term

$2 720 or $1.20 per km2 of the licence area during the second term, whichever is the greater

     (ii)    in relation to the third term

$2 720 or $2.40 per km2 of the licence area during the third term, whichever is the greater

    (d)    in relation to a licence granted on terms under which the licence is renewable for 3 further terms—

     (i)     in relation to the second term

$2 720 or $1.10 per km2 of the licence area during the second term, whichever is the greater

     (ii)    in relation to the third term

$2 720 or $1.55 per km2 of the licence area during the third term, whichever is the greater

    (iii)    in relation to the fourth term

$2 720 or $3.05 per km2 of the licence area during the fourth term, whichever is the greater

Retention licence

$2 720 or $468 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

Production licence

$2 720 or $468 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

Pipeline licence

$2 720 or $257 per kilometre, whichever is the greater

Associated facilities licence

$2 720 or $1 361 per km2 of the total licence area, whichever is the greater

Note—

As required by section 10AA(2) of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1978, the Minister has certified that, in the Minister's opinion, it is necessary or appropriate that these regulations come into operation as set out in these regulations.
