PESTICIDES ACT 1978 - REGULATION
(Relating to restricted pesticides)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Pesticides Act 1978, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

The Pesticides and Allied Chemicals Regulation 1979 is amended:
| (a) | by omitting from the headings to the Regulation the words |
"AND ALLIED CHEMICALS" wherever occurring;
(b) by omitting from clause 1 the words "and Allied Chemicals";
| (c) | by omitting from the definition of "the Act" in clause 4 (1) the words ''and Allied Chemicals"; |
| (d) | by omitting clause 40 (1) and by inserting instead the following subclause: |
(1) The substances known by the following chemical names or approved common names are prescribed as restricted pesticides for the purposes of the Act:

| (e) | by omitting from the headings to Forms 1-15 in Schedule 1 the words "AND ALLIED CHEMICALS" wherever occurring |

(f) by omitting from Forms 1-15 in Schedule 1 the words "and Allied Chemicals" (whether appearing in Roman or Italic print) wherever occurring;
(g) by omitting from the headings to Schedules 2, 4-6 and 9-11 the words "AND ALLIED CHEMICALS’ wherever occuring.
EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Regulation is to add the substance known as Acrolein to a list of substances prescribed as restricted pesticides. (Ai restricted pesticide is one which cannot be prepared or used except by a person authorised by the Registrar of
Pesticides.)
The Regulation makes other amendments resulting from the change of name of the Pesticides Act 1978 (formerly known as the Pesticides and Allied Chemicals Act 1978).
