AN ACT to amend " The Perth Drainage Rate

Act, 1875."

[ Assented to, 3rd July, 1878.]

HEREAS it is expedient to amend " The Perth Drainage

Excellency the Governor of Western Australia and its Dependencies,WRate Act, 1875 ;" Be it therefore enacted by His

Preamble.

by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council

thereof, as follows:—

1 THIS Act may be cited as " The Perth Drainage Rate Act, Short Title.

1875, Amendment Act, 1878."

2 FORTHWITH after the passing of this Act, the Perth City

Council shallpay to the Colonial Treasurer all moneys that they Amount

may have in their possession or control as the proceeds of the rate Colonial Treasurer to be as-	Ifndetteerties‘sCit	tO
authorised to be levied by the said Act of 1875 towards the "named. liquidation of the debt recited in the said Act, and the Colonial

Treasurer and the Treasurer of the said Council shall then ascertain the amount due to the Colonial Treasurer in respect of the said debt, and shall notify such amount in the Government Gazette.

3 NOTWITHSTANDING anything contained in the said Act

continue to levy extra rate. of 1875, the Perth City Council is hereby authorised and required from time to time to declare and collect the rate mentioned in the said Act of 1875, until they shall, from the proceeds of such rate so made from time to dine, have realised sufficient to pay the balance, ascertained as aforesaid, of the principal and interest due to the Colonial Treasurer, in respect of the money borrowed, as in the said Act mentioned, together with all interest that shall have from time to time accrued due upon such balance in the meantime.
