AN ORDINANCE to impose certain Fees on Licenses for
Carriages in the City of Perth.
[7th July, 1865. ]
HEREAS it is expedient to amend the law for the Licensing
Wcertain fees upon certain Carriages in the said City; Be it thereforeof Carts and Garners in the City of Perth, and to impose
enacted by His Excellency The Governor of Western Australia and. its Dependencies, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:—

Perth Carriage Fees.
No person in Perth to keep
IT shall not be lawful for any person residing in the said City of Perth, to keep and use therein any carriage described in the Schedule (I), and the rules therein, and not therein described as ex- empted, who shall not be the holder of a license issued under the provisions of this Ordinance.

| in such„ application the number and description of carriages so kept and used by such person ; and such person shall, at the time of making such application, pay to the Chairman of the City Council of such City appointed under " The City of Perth Improvement Ordinance, 1858," the sum or sums set forth in the Schedule (I) as the proper fees to be paid in respect of the carriages described on making such application ; and every such license shall be in force until the Thirty-first day of December inclusive in each year ; and upon the receipt of such application and of the sum or sums of money hereinbefore referred to, the said Chairman shall issue a License in the form in Schedule (II) to the person making such application as aforesaid. |

IF any person residing in the said City shall, after the carriage described in the said Schedule (I) as liable to the payment of fees, without being duly licensed under this Ordinance to keep and use the same, every such person shall forfeit and pay- any sum not exceeding Ten Pounds, upon conviction before one or more Justice or Justices of the Peace ; And every such offender shall also be liable to the payment to such Chairman, of the full fees payable in respect of every carriage kept by such person, over and above the said, penalty.

Perth Carriage Fees.
RULES FOR CHARGING THE SAID FEES.
The said first mentioned fee to be charged for every waggon, van,
cart, chaise-cart, or other such carrion which shall be kept to be used in
the course of trade, or which shall be kept to be let out to hire.
1.
The said two other fees to be respectively charged for every coach, landau, chariot, chaise, gig, dog-cart, sociable, caravan, auricle, cart, van, waggon, chair or car, and for every other carriage constructed for like pur- poses, by whatever name or names the same shall be called or known; and upon all such carriages hired by the month or any longer period, and upon all such carriages kept to let out to hire.
2.
The fees on licensed carriages kept to be let out to hire to be paid by- the person keeping the same for such purpose.
3.
EXEMPTIONS.
1. Any cart or carriage belonging to Her Majesty or to the Governor.
2. Any carriage belonging to an officiating Minister of Religion.
LICENSE TO KEEP CARRIAGE.
Whereas A. B. being the owner of a certain carriage (or certain carriages) being a (here insert the kind of carriage and number of wheels) has applied to me to grant him a license to keep and use said carriage (or carriages) and
whereas I have this day also received the sums of money payable under the
"Perth Carriage Fees Ordinance" in respect of such carriage (or carriages).
I do therefore hereby grant to the said A. B. license to keep and use the said
carriage /or carriages) until the first day of January next ensuing. Given
