AN ACT to amend the Perpetual Trustees WA. Ltd.,

Act 1922.

[Assented to 6 May 1985.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:---

1.   This Act may be cited as the Perpetual Short title.

Trustees W.A. Ltd., Amendment Act 1985.

(b) by inserting after subsection (8) the following subsections

(9) Where an acquisition of shares

that, but for this subsection, would result in a contravention of subsection (1) is made by a body corporate

(a)	in accordance with the Companies (Acquisition of Shares) (Western Australia) Code; and
(b)	with, and in accordance with, the consent in writing of the Attorney General of the State,

the prescribed provisions shall not apply to or in relation to that body corporate in respect of the shares so acquired.

(10) In subsection (9) "the

prescribed provisions" means

(a)	subsections (1) to (8) and the Second Schedule; and
(b)	any provisions of the Articles of Association of the Company that, but for subsection (9), would-

(i) prevent; or

(ii)  authorize the Direct- ors of the Company to refuse to allow, refuse to assent to, or refuse to register,

a transfer of shares in the

Company.

(11) The Attorney General is hereby authorized to give the consent referred to in subsection (9) (b) and may impose such conditions (if any) as he thinks fit upon that consent. ".
