An Act to amend section 3 of the Periodic Detention of Prisoners Act, 1970, to enable women to be sentenced to periodic detention. [Assented to, 17th March, 1977.]

Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in	BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1.     This Act may be cited as the "Periodic Detention of

Prisoners (Amendment) Act, 1977".

2. The Periodic Detention of Prisoners Act, 1970, is

amended—

(a) by omitting section 3 (2) (a ) ;

(b) by omitting from section 3 (2) (b) the word "male".
