Preamble. "ITT HERE AS by an Act of the Governor and Legislative Council T f of New South Wales made and passed in the fifteenth year of

“ incorporate a Company to be called the ‘ Penrith Nepean Bridge

was enacted that the capital stock of the said company shall bt; six

thousand pounds sterling and shall he divided into twelve hundred

shares of five pounds each And whereas since the passing of the said Act from the great rise wliich has taken place in building materials and every kind of mechanical sldll and labor the said capital is found wholly inadequate to complete the building of the said bridge and it has become necessary to extend the said capital and to alter the said Act in other respects as hereinafter mentioned Be it therefore enacted by Ilis Excellency the Governor of the said Colony with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof as follows—

1. The capital stock of the said company shall he CiljJitai to te

shares of five pounds each in lieu of the capital of six thousand pounds

and the twelve hundred shares specified in the said Act.

2. The time fixed by the said Act for the completion of the

said bridge shall bo and is hereby extended to the period of three three years, specified for the continuance of this Act not exceeding the rates specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed marked A Provided that the said bridge shall be built in tin; manner prescribed by the said rt'cited Act and of a sufficient lufight to be safe and commodious during all states of the river and that the same shall at all times be kept and maintained in good order and condition.
