An Act to fix a Scale for the Payment of Jurors in

Criminal Cases, and for other purposes.

E it Enacted by the Governor-in-Chief of the Province of tive Council and House of Assembly of the said province, in this	B South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legisla-
present Parliament assembled, as follows, that is to say:

Scale o f payment.

1, I n lieu of the payments provided for. by 'L The Jury Act

Amendment Act, 1865," payments shall be made out of the General Revenue to jurymen attending criminal sittings according to the following scale :-

Government Gazette direct, 4, This

To each juryman, for each day's attendance. b. Eight Shillings

To each juryman, for each mile in distance

between the residence of such juryman, as

appearing on the jury-list, and the place

where the sittings are held ... ...... ... ... ... ... Sixpence

Limit of radius

2. No pcrson shall 'be summoned as a juror to attend any withinwhich jury

criminal sittings who shall reside more than ten miles from the place	be
where such sittings are to be held.

3. Jury lists, jurors' books, and jurors' rolls made since the lists.
