Pawnbrokers and Second-hand Dealers

Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2014

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Pawnbrokers and Second-hand
Dealers Amendment Regulations (No. 3) 2014.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)	regulations 1 and 2 — on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;
(b)	the rest of the regulations — on the day fixed under the Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008 section 2(b).

3.             Regulations amended

These regulations amend the Pawnbrokers and Second-hand
Dealers Regulations 1996.

4.             Regulation 3 amended

In regulation 3 in the definition of financial body delete
paragraphs (b) and (c) and insert:

(b)

a registrable corporation within the meaning of Act 2001 (Commonwealth) section 7;

5.             Regulation 4 amended

In regulation 4 delete “paragraph (b) of the definition of
pawnbroker in section 3(1) does” and insert:

the definition of pawnbroker in section 3(1) and sections 3A
and 5 do

6.             Regulation 5 amended

In regulation 5(1) in the Table:

(a) in item 12 delete “Road Traffic Act 1974,” and insert:

Road Traffic (Administration) Act 2008 section 4,

(b)	in item 12 delete “Part 8 of the Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Rules 2002).” and insert:
the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014 Part 10 Division 8).
(c)	in item 14 delete “Part 8 of the Road Traffic (Vehicle Standards) Rules 2002).” and insert:
the Road Traffic (Vehicles) Regulations 2014 Part 10 Division 8).

7.             Regulation 15 amended

Delete regulation 15(7) and (8).
