Pawnbrokers and Second-hand Dealers

Amendment Regulations 2007

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

1.             Citation

These regulations are the Pawnbrokers and Second-hand
Dealers Amendment Regulations 2007.

2.             Commencement

These regulations come into operation on the day on which the Pawnbrokers and Second-hand Dealers Amendment Act 2006 comes into operation.

3.             The regulations amended

The amendments in these regulations are to the Pawnbrokers
and Second-hand Dealers Regulations 1996*.

4.             Regulation 5 amended

Regulation 5(1) is amended in the Table as follows:

(a) in item 23 after “memorabilia” by inserting —

“ (but not jewellery or watches) ”;

(b) after item 23 by inserting —

“

24.              Goods purchased for babies, such as baby furniture, toys, prams, strollers and vehicle baby seats and capsules.

25.              Goods that have been the subject of a rental agreement.

26.              Pianos and pianolas.

27.              Vacuum cleaners.

28.              Wheelchairs and similar goods designed to carry physically disabled persons.

”.

5.             Regulation 13 amended

(1)	Regulation 13(1) is amended by deleting “section 39(b)(iv)” and inserting instead —
“ section 39(b) ”.
(2)	Regulation 13(1) is amended in the Table as follows:

(a) after item 1 by inserting —

1A.	The person’s name is stated on a
current motor driver’s licence held by
the person that has been issued in
Australia. 75 -
1B.	The person’s name is stated on a
passport held by the person that is
either current or has not been expired
for more than 2 years. 75 -

1C.	The person’s name is stated on a proof of age card held by the person that has been issued under the Liquor
Licensing Regulations 1989
regulation 18B. 75 -

”;

(b) in item 5, by deleting “section 39(b)(iii)” and inserting instead —

“ item 1C ”;

(c) by deleting item 13.
