1Name of regulations

 These regulations are the Patents Amendment Regulations 1999 (No. 1).

2Commencement

 These regulations commence on gazettal.

3Amendment of Patents Regulations 1991

Schedule 1 amends the Patents Regulations 1991.

  1. (2)

    A person is not eligible to sit for an examination conducted by the Board in topic group F, G or H of Schedule 5 unless the person has completed, or has been exempted from completing, topic groups A, B, C, D, E and I of Schedule 5.

  2. (3)

    Despite subregulation (2), a person who has passed the subjects mentioned in items 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Schedule 5 (as in force immediately before 27 January 1999) is eligible to sit for an examination conducted by the Board in topic group E, F, G, H or I of Schedule 5.

Note   The subjects mentioned in items 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Schedule 5, as in force immediately before 27 January 1999, were:
