HEREAS it is expedient to remit the payment of rent as here-

Provided that if lands situate in more than one district are held under the same right to a lease, sych remission shall be calculated according to the number of square miles in each district, and the respective rates of mmission before-mentioned: Provided also, that

no person shall be entitled to the benefit of this Act in respect of

any right to a lease as aforesafd, which has lapsed or expired since

the sixteenth day of March, one' thousand eight hundred and sixty-

nix.
