Passenger Transport Amendment

(Registration Labels) Regulation 2012

Passenger Transport Act 1990

Her Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Passenger Transport Act 1990.

Explanatory note
The object of this Regulation is to make a minor consequential amendment to reflect the proposed changes to the requirement to affix registration labels to vehicles (the Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) Amendment (Registration Labels) Regulation 2012 abolishes the requirement that registration labels be issued and affixed to light motor vehicles and trailers).

This Regulation is made under the Passenger Transport Act 1990, including section 63 (the general regulation-making power).

1      Name of Regulation

This Regulation is the Passenger Transport Amendment (Registration
Labels) Regulation 2012.

2      Commencement

This Regulation commences on the day on which it is published on the
NSW legislation website.

3 Amendment of Passenger Transport Regulation 2007

Clause 119 Regular inspection of taxi-cabs

Omit “prominently affixed next to the taxi-cab’s registration label” from clause 119 (2).

Insert instead “prominently affixed to the upper or lower left (or near side) portion of the front windscreen of the taxi-cab”.
